On March 23rd, the shipping teaching and research section of the Mechanical and Electrical Department visited Guizhou Diesel Engine Factory and carried out a technology discussion together.

This visit aimed to promote the shipping industry development in Guizhou, establish the LNG standard of small ships and promote the application of LNG (liquefied natural gas) ship in Guizhou Province.

The shipping teaching and research section described in detail the basic situation, the development status and the future priority respectively. It also proposed to have deeper cooperation with enterprises and promote students’ employment.

The leaders of Guizhou Diesel Engine Factory said its dual-fuel engines has been certified by CCS (China Classification Society) and it will push forward the cooperation with the shipping teaching and research section of Guizhou Jiaotong College to promote the development of LNG ship across Guizhou.

At present, China’s minimum LNG ship is 28.5 meters long and our college’s LNG ship will be 15.8 meters long. This project will be of great significance to the application of LNG in small ships in Guizhou.
