On the morning of November 26, the Opening Ceremony for the 2025 cohort of international students was held at the university’s lecture hall. A total of 102 international students from 22 countries gathered together to embark on a new journey of studying in China. Zhan Qianjiang, Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Heads of relevant functional departments of the university and faculty representatives from various schools also participated. The ceremony was presided over by Guo Tianhui, Head of the School of International Education.


On behalf of the university, Vice President Zhan Qianjiang extended a warm welcome to all international freshmen. He gave a detailed introduction to the university’s educational characteristics, disciplinary strengths, and achievements in international development. He encouraged the students to cherish their time at the university, actively integrate into campus life, expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons through cross-cultural exchanges, and gain valuable growth experiences.




Faculty Representatives Introduce Academic Programs
Faculty representatives from the School of Road and Bridge Engineering, School of Automotive Engineering, and School of Art and Tourism delivered presentations respectively, elaborating on their schools’ academic programs, curriculum systems, practical training platforms, and employment prospects. These introductions helped international freshmen gain a comprehensive understanding of the program features and provided clear guidance for their future academic planning.


School Badge Pinning Ceremony
During the school badge pinning ceremony, university leaders and faculty representatives solemnly pinned the school badges on representatives of the international freshmen. Each badge not only symbolizes the acquisition of a new identity but also embodies the university’s expectations, allowing the freshmen to deeply feel the warmth and care of the university.


International Student Representatives Deliver Speeches
In the sharing session, Miwen, a representative of senior international students, shared her study experience and growth insights, encouraging the freshmen to explore bravely and communicate actively. Mark, a representative of the new international students, expressed his passion for Chinese culture and his longing for academic study with great enthusiasm. He promised to devote himself to his studies with full enthusiasm, strive to be a bridge for cross-cultural communication, and live up to his prime years and expectations.

Towards the end of the ceremony, Guo Tianhui sent her best wishes to the freshmen, urging them to dedicate themselves to their studies, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and write a wonderful chapter of youth on campus. After the ceremony, all participating leaders, teachers, and students took a group photo in front of the library.
The successful holding of this opening ceremony not only helps international freshmen quickly familiarize themselves with the campus environment and integrate into collective life but also builds an important bridge for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. In the follow-up, the School of International Education will collaborate with relevant schools to continuously improve the academic support mechanism and cross-cultural cultivation system, fully support the growth and success of international students, and promote the quality and efficiency of the university’s international education.
