About GCPU

Founded in 1958, Guizhou Communications Polytechnic University has undergone several significant developmental stages, including being recognized as a "National Demonstration School," a "National Quality School," and a "National High-Level Vocational College with Chinese Characteristics". In 2024, it became the first vocational undergraduate university specializing in transportation in China.

GCPU covers an area of over 867,000 square meters and has a total gross floor area of nearly 500,000 square meters. It serves more than 13,000 students and offers over 30 undergraduate and vocational majors, including 15 national-level key majors.Since its establishment, GCPU has produced over 100,000 skilled professionals, earning the reputation as the "Cradle of Transportation Talents in Guizhou." It ranks among the top tier of vocational colleges in China in terms of comprehensive competitiveness.

GCPU focuses on cultivating talents for the modern integrated transportation system, with the "Tower of High Bridge Technology in Plateau and Canyon" and the "Tower of Integration of Transportation and Tourism for Research and Learning" as its landmarks. It has a unique specialty layout with two complementary specialty clusters, supported by other advantageous majors.GCPU provides 19 national-level courses and 15 provincial-level and above industry-education integration bases, collaborative innovation centers, engineering research centers, and key laboratories. Its Wolongshan Tunnel Practical Training Facility and Kunpeng Bridge Practical Training Facility are unique in China, providing authentic bridge and tunnel training. It also has nearly 200 on-campus integrated teaching and practical training facilities, including the Karst Mountain Road Intelligent Transportation Virtual Simulation Training Center, Transportation Civil Engineering Open Practical Training Base, Intelligent Transportation Industry-Education Integration Practical Training Base, and others.

GCPU has a strong teaching faculty of over 800 staff members, led by four national-level teacher teams, including the renowned "Huang Danian Teacher Team," which plays a pivotal role in advancing the high-quality development of other teaching teams.
