On April 25, Guizhou Province celebrated its fifth annual "Talents Day", a milestone event for talent development. Our university responded by hosting a two-day program (April 27-28) featuring a Doctoral Talent Recruitment Fair, cross-sector forums, and industry-academia symposia. These initiatives underscore our commitment to attracting, supporting, and retaining top talent while fostering a sense of community within our academic ecosystem.

1. High-Skilled Talents Redefine Education’s Role
On April 27, a Strategic Development Workshop gathered top professionals to rethink vocational education’s future. Vice President Zhan Qianjiang emphasized their key role in workforce preparation, urging participants to "apply specialized skills to solve real-world problems." Attendees—including academic affairs and HR representatives—discussed talent development frameworks, core student abilities, and strategies to boost competitiveness in emerging industries.
2. Industry-Academia Collaboration Drives Tech Innovation
The next morning, a Research Innovation Forum connected academia with transportation industry leaders. President Wang Changlin stressed the need to "link academic research with practical industry needs," challenging faculty to embed enterprise demands into their projects. Focused on Guizhou’s industrial trends, the event helped doctoral researchers understand market demands and expand their innovation toolkits.
3. Doctoral Faculty Propose Academic Reforms
Meanwhile, an Academic Capacity-Building Forum enabled doctoral faculty to suggest evidence-based improvements for vocational undergraduate programs. Their recommendations—covering curriculum updates and teaching methods—were praised by President Wang as "crucial for institutional growth." He pledged to strengthen talent support systems, including mentorship networks and interdisciplinary collaboration.
4. Cross-Disciplinary Exchange Fuels University Growth
The "Talents Day" series became a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling professionals to share ideas. "By breaking down barriers, we’ve laid the groundwork for skill development and institutional excellence," said an organizer. These efforts position our university as a leader in high-quality education, where talent and innovation merge to shape the future.
